Apple: They didn’t Built That

Apple is credited with releasing a number of innovative technologies. Although they have brought some very unique products to the market, many users do not realize just how much of Apple’s technology is lifted from its competitors. From input devices to operating system designs, music players to smart phones, Apple has a long history of copying the competition.
The first, and arguably most well known, “theft” by Apple was the mouse. Originally developed by the Xerox corporation, Apple brought the mouse to market with their original Macintosh in 1984. It was heralded by users of text based operating systems as a major innovation. Xerox was not given credit for their work. Many aspects of the original Macintosh operating system were lifted in the same way.
